16 months: photos from my phone this month

So many photos that I haven't had a chance to upload! Here are a few memorable moments.

Our morning routine: doodling and green smoothies.

We celebrated Aunty Mandy's graduation at Cafe Sydney - there was a cool floor model of the city that you walked over with Grandma and Grandpa:

Playing with Aunty Mandy during Sunday brunch:

You're outgrowing your baby chair. Look how much taller you've grown in 6 months (above). And look at how you sit in your chair now....so cheeky.

I wonder if you still love books as you grow older? You love flipping through books at every opportunity. It's a great way to keep you occupied.

14 months: photos from my iphone

Here are some photos from last month that I finally uploaded from my phone. These are the everyday moments at home and out and about.

You look so mature compared to your 9 month photos!

Mummy and Daddy take you into the city on the bus for 2 days a week to attend daycare. We've been taking you in the carrier but now that you're getting bigger, we'll have to take the stroller.

How cute do you look in the adidas hoodie that Aunty Mandy bought you?

Sleep regression

Since a few weeks ago, you've regressed in your sleep.  Whenever we put you down for a nap or to sleep for the night, you would pull yourself to standing and cry and scream at the top of your lungs. I was worried you would sleep standing up and fall back and hit your head, so we would go in and put you on your back. Within seconds, you'll pull yourself back up again and cry even louder. Eventually, I would have no choice but to breastfeed you until you fall asleep.

Then you started waking up every 2-3 hours at night. When I put you down, you would pull yourself up and cry rather than go to sleep like you used to do. This happened every night without fail. I got so tired, eventually I would take you to our bed to co-sleep around 3-4am. Finally in frustration, I googled '12 month sleep problems'. I was surprised that it is actually quite common and is termed the 13-month regression. It coincides with your next development milestone of learning to walk and talk. You need more comfort and security because there is so much going on in your head. So based on internet advice, we have to do whatever works for you to get you to sleep, ie. nursing to sleep, co-sleeping, and definitely no crying it out.

Apparently, this could go on for weeks. We'll just have to tough it out and hope that you'll be happy to fall asleep on your own again soon.

Anyway, I was going through my phone to delete some old photos and videos (I'm always running out of space because I take so many photos and videos of you) and couldn't believe how chubby you were at the 7-9 month mark!

2013: A look back

What an incredible year it's been! We have been so blessed to have you enter our lives this year. You're a wonderfully good baby, constantly smiling and delighted with the world. You give your affection freely with hugs and sloppy kisses. Whenever you're excited (even over something simple like seeing your sippy cup) you'll kick your legs around and squeal with delight. Whenever you see me after a brief absence, your eyes light up and your whole body will reach for me while you laugh with a loud 'ka ka ka'! I'm so lucky to be your Mummy.

I went through our huge photo archive and am amazed by how much you've grown through the months. There were also some funny photos that made Daddy and I laugh out loud. I've tried to upload photos that haven't been added to the blog yet.

Week 46: Goodnight moon

It's fascinating to see how much you've developed these last few months. Your comprehension has improved so much! You love to turn the pages, lift flaps and point to pictures on a page. When I ask you where something is, you can point to it. Here you are reading your bedtime story with Daddy. It's so interesting to compare it to how you interacted with the book when you were 4 months old in this post.

You hair looks quite wild because we just gave you a bath. I think you're overdue for a haircut!

Week 36: Lots of videos and photos

I've been quite busy during the days now that we've moved into our new house, so have been neglecting the blog for a bit. I have been taking lots of videos on my phone though! So here are the videos I've taken in the last week.

You've recently learnt to shake your head, though you're not saying 'No'. It's just random shaking and sometimes nodding of your head. It's quite funny, especially when we ask you a question and it looks like you're saying no to us.

You're still not crawling yet but you have learnt to shuffle backwards. I found you shuffled right under the couch the other day!

On the weekend, you got the case of the giggles whenever we made the shushing noise. For some reason, you found it hilarious!

You're much more stable standing now -

Week 34: Lots of packing

We are finally getting ready to move into our new home! Here are some pictures after we got the keys yesterday:

Week 33: Our NBA basketballer and weekly round-up

You look so cute in this NBA outfit that Aunty Katrina & Uncle Daniel bought you - looks like you're ready to play :)

Those big armholes are perfect for me to tickle you. It's so cute the way you anticipate being tickled when you see me reach towards you and then you make these loud belly laughs!

That middle finger again...
Standing up so well!

First Father's Day

It was your first Father's Day with Daddy today. It was also the first day of spring though we couldn't go out today because Daddy had the flu. Daddy played with you a little bit while he was in bed.

Happy Grandpa's Day too!

Can't believe I was only 15 weeks pregnant last year when we celebrated Father's Day!

You're becoming such a big boy now, you love to do things yourself. Here you are holding a sippy cup and drinking water:

Week 24 photostory: Graduating to your new crib

You finally outgrew the little bassinet that you've been sleeping in since we brought you home from the hospital. You've been sleeping in your new crib since Sunday. I thought it might take a while for you to get used to your bigger crib but you slept soundly on Sunday night and on Monday morning, you didn't even call out to me when you woke up. I could see you awake in your crib, just looking around at your new surroundings and playing with the little chime I put up on your crib.  You must love being able to stretch out and not hit your arms against the wall.

You must really love the crib because you slept for 8 hours straight last night and you took 2 naps in it today! These are such huge milestones, especially napping during the day because you've always needed me to sleep right next to you during your naps. I decided to do some nap training with you today. I tried it last week and you cried and refused to sleep in the bassinet. Today I put you in the crib while you were still awake and you fell asleep on your own.

Here you are having your nap after playing with petite Sophie and using the lovely blanket - both gifts from Cousin Lan in America.

Here is a pic taken after Daddy put the crib together on Sunday, look how much space you have to roll around!

Week 22 and 23 Round-up

For the past few months, our weekend routine has been going househunting on Sat and then having family time on Sunday. Here are some photos from last weekend when we went to the Bay Run. Mummy and Daddy used to go running around the bay a long time ago, so that place holds a special significance for us.

It was so cute dressing you up in a little cap and overalls. Your Auntie Katrina said you resembled Russell from the movie Up!
